After hours Care

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please dial 911 or go to your nearest emergency medical facility.

Our voice messaging service is available during clinic hours when we are with patients and after clinic hours.  We will return all calls within one business day unless a complex medical question or issue requires more time to respond.  For urgent medical concerns after clinic hours you may call Doctor Holland directly at home.  We ask that you not disturb him for non-urgent matters or for prescription refills.

Prescription Refills

If you need a prescription refill please call your pharmacy directly and ask them to fax a refill request to us at (707) 824-8766. Please allow two business days for your prescription to be refilled.  If we need further information in order to approve the request we will contact you.

New Patients

New patient appointments with Doctor Holland are generally one hour and are scheduled during regular clinic hours.  Follow up appointments are made on a patient-by-patient, visit-by-visit basis, depending on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to treatment. Follow up appointments are usually 20-30 minutes.  Additional time will be scheduled during follow up appointments as needed to review x-rays and test results, etc.

Because of the longer appointment time required for the initial visit, it is not possible to schedule a new appointment on a “same-day” or even a same week basis. We will schedule you for our “first available” appointment, or at your convenience. We do keep a waiting list and cancellations sometimes allow us to move an initial visit to an earlier day, if needed.

Fees are based on the amount of time spent with the doctor, the medical complexity of your health care issues, and the number of areas of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) provided during the appointment. When scheduling your initial visit we will give you an estimate of the range of charges for our services under the circumstances, and for follow up visits.

Scheduling for Established Patients with Acute Conditions

We make every attempt to see established patients with an acute problem on the same or next clinic day, but our ability to do so can vary from week to week.  If we are unable to schedule your appointment immediately we will put you on our waiting list for a cancellation appointment and call you if one becomes available.

Most medical conditions respond better with early treatment.  We will be able to help you more effectively if you are able to request our help before you need urgent care.  And we know that things sometimes get worse “overnight.”  We will do our best to provide the treatment you need in both these circumstances.

Cancelling Appointments

In fairness to other patients, and to improve our ability to provide urgent care treatment, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or change an appointment.  Please notify us as soon as you know you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment.  You may call us during clinic hours or leave a message on our voice messaging service after hours.

A fee of $50.00 will be charged for missed appointments, or for cancellations or changes with less than 24-hour notice.   Repeated missed appointments will cause dismissal from our practice.
