Meet Dr. Holland

Dr. HollandDr. Carlisle Holland received his medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1977 and is board certified in Family Practice with a special proficiency in osteopathic manipulation, Osteopathic NeuroMusculoSkeletal Medicine. He is an internationally recognized authority on the use of osteopathic manipulation in the treatment of children as well as treatment of injuries to the head, nervous system and musculoskeletal system, and has over twenty years experience in treating neurological disorders and complex medical conditions.

Dr. Holland was chosen Physician of the Year by the Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons of California in 2006.

In his early thirties Dr. Holland was a professor at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He helped develop integrative medicine conceptually and designed residences and other medical training programs. His educational videos have been used in osteopathic colleges and physical medicine courses in the United States, France, Great Britain, Scotland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. Many of his students are now the leaders of the Osteopathic profession.

Dr. Holland chaired a national committee on credentials in osteopathic technique for the American Academy of Osteopathy from 1988 to 1997 and is a member of the Bureau of Experts for the Osteopathic Profession. He continues to participate in post doctoral training programs and he is adjunct clinical faculty for both osteopathic medical schools in California, the osteopathic schools in Arizona and Texas and for the University of California, Davis Medical School.

Dr. Holland studied aerospace engineering in the Engineering Honors Program at the University of Texas in Austin. He also studied molecular biology at the Cell Research Institute at the University before entering osteopathic medical school.

Dr. Holland is in private practice in Sebastopol, California.
